As the Community Empowerment Center, we are a national-level public organization formally and legally registered with the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations in Sri Lanka. Registration from the National Secretariat for NGOs is granted only after obtaining clearance reports from the Ministry of Defense with recommendations from District Secretaries of two districts, and after thoroughly verifying whether the organization has the capacity to engage in national and international level activities on behalf of the objectives they stand for. An organization registered in this manner can be described as a national-level public movement with the highest level of legal background in Sri Lanka. We wish to introduce our organization as a national-level people's movement with such a legal background.
